There are many impacts cyclones have on Australia, some include:

· Reduced income for businesses
· Farmers suffer damage to livestock and loss of crops
· Local businesses may suffer damager to some produce
· Businesses close down and workers are left unemployed
· Money loss from rebuilding shops from the damage
· Businesses closed down
As shown in the image above the total damage caused by Cyclone Yasi was approximately $3.5 billion. $2 billion was lost in agriculture and mining and 170 00 businesses and or homes were left without a supply of power.

Spreading of diseases form the lack of sanitation in the water Due to the destruction in the environment after Cyclone Yasi, most of the farmers produce was destroyed. For this reason all the prices of food and everyday supplies was extremely high and many family's could not afford them. One of the major industries that was destroyed due to Cyclone Yasi was the banana industry. |

The Great Barrier Reef, before and after Cyclone Yasi passed over the Great Barrier Reef, causing major damage to some parts. Approximately 13% of the reef were exposed to Cyclone Yasi, from Cairns to Townsville.The strong storm surge also washed toxic chemicals into the ocean around the Great Barrier Reef. Experts predict that it will take up to 20 years for the Reef to fully recover.
